Parenting Articles - How to Get your Kids to Eat their Vegetables

We all encountered this situation where children would just shut their mouth and refuse to eat vegetables.
I for one, never liked eating vegetables as a kid. Maybe because it has no taste for me. I used to sit on the table for hours and just stare at the green leafy stuffs.

It was not until my twenties that I learned to eat vegetables. It's really good for everyone;)

Here's an excerpt of ChildUp's parenting articles about getting your child to eat veggies.
"How do you get your kids to eat their vegetables?  Having read all the horror stories about stubborn, veggie-hating children, I decided on pre-emptive strikes by giving Maia the green stuff as soon as she was weaned off of breast milk. Her earliest encounters with solid foods included finely chopped spinach leaves boiled with rice, and served like a watery porridge."

  1. I always serve veggies either on the side or added to my meals.
Salads are easy or shakes. I crave veggies and it is good to teach one's child to crave them to.

  6. One thing with these G-Kids we're raising that I am eternally grateful for... they LOVE the Exotic Styles of Foods I enjoy and would rather go to the Vietnamese Restaurant and eat Fresh Healthy Foods than a Fast Food Restaurant. I can't tell you how many times they asked for a Happy Meal only to get the Toy & play on the playground, leave the Food and then ask to go to the Asian Restaurant to actually eat! *LOL* Now I just take them there first with the Promise of going Goodwill Hunting for a bag of Fast Food Type Toys instead for a buck & to the Park to play... they're perfectly content with that agreeable compromise of enjoying everything in a more frugal and healthier alternative way. *Winks*

  7. Believe it or not, it's getting my 9 year old to eat fruit that's challenging. He acts like being in the near vicinity of fruit will kill him.
